ABOUT
‘About’ yeah about that, it’s the usual. You know, ad creative with glasses, beard, bags and thinning hair, and of course a healthy dose of crippling self-doubt. But I don’t really care that much about some hairs leaving my head because what are they going to achieve by themselves? I can still come up with ideas with a bald head, surely. They will just lay in the shower sink, and eventually the sewer. So yeah, all good. Yep glasses as well of course. My prescription is L-1.75 & R-1.25 but then I had my eye sight tested the other day at Specsavers Mare Street but got there a bit early so I had a pint beforehand opposite at The Cock Tavern and then my eye test came back better with L-1.25 & R-1.00 so make of that what you will. Either I’m Benjamin Button or beer is better than carrots for your eyes. I have 4 pairs of shoes and not much clothes. I like to read a lot of books and watch films which I then talk to other people about to get them to watch it, but give it a few weeks and I’ll go ‘I can’t remember the exact plot, but whatshisname is in it’ or ‘yeah I read that book in the bath before - but can’t really remember how it ended, or started for that matter.’ When I have to present work (or have a date) I will wear ‘Juniper Ridge’ cologne, which is a small company in California who hike out in the mountains to collect herbs, tree bark, berries and other natural nice smelling stuff to create cologne which mask my nerves. I also like to hike in the mountains myself but I don't forage, I just take pictures. My beard is usually kept at 9mm but the trimmer is a bit dodgy so sometimes I go rogue with scissors like I’m sculpting a hedge. With mixed results. I won’t do this before a big presentation. Bags. Not tote bags (although I do own a few of them too) but the ones under my eyes. I usually wake up at 2am. Come up with totally random stuff that I then forget the next day until some neural pathway connects the dots again and I go ‘ah yeah I thought of this thing at 2am the other night when I couldn’t sleep. Random’. I then get up again at 6.30 and go for a run, have a coffee and some yoghurt (I would have sourdough but the sourdough from the Turkish supermarket gets mouldy before I can finish a loaf, so yoghurt it is), and then, well, I get to work.
